Frequently Asked Questions

How do reservations work?

Reservations are released on 30 days in advance at 9 AM (EST). For any reservations over 6 people, please email us at or give us a call. Reservations can be made on, the Resy app, or by calling (732) 530-6590.

If you are running behind for your reservation, please let us know. All members of your party must be at the restaurant in order for you to be seated. If the entire party has not arrived within 15 minutes of the booked reservation time, we cannot guarantee your table.

Are walk-ins accepted? Is the bar open for reservations?

Yes, walk-ins are accepted if there is space in the dining room. That being said, we encourage reservations to guarantee seating. The bar is first-come, first-serve. If all bar stools are full, we welcome you to wait in our bistro lounge and enjoy a cocktail prior to your experience.

What is the dress code?

Smart casual attire - Swimwear is not permitted, and men’s shirts must have sleeves (short or long) in the dining room. 

Do you have parking?

Plenty of parking is available for you at River Pointe Inn! The closest parking option is located in the municipal lot located on Black Point Road behind the fire station. Please use the rear half of the parking lot furthest from the fire house. 

An additional parking lot can be found at Piping Rock Park, a three minute walk from our doors.

In addition to parking lots, street parking can be found throughout the neighborhood. Please be considerate of our neighbors when parking on the streets of Rumson and be sure to check for posted signage with any additional local regulations. 

Can I bring my own wine? Do you have a corkage fee?

While we love wine as much as you, River Pointe Inn does not allow outside wine under any circumstance. Our team has curated an excellent list of wines from France, California, and Oregon. We are confident you will find something you will like!

Can we bring balloons or table decorations? 

While we love celebrating life’s occasions with you, ballon’s are not permitted in our dining rooms. You are welcome to decorate your tables with minimal decor (I.e. floral arrangements), but please call us before booking your reservation to confirm what you are bringing.

Can we bring a cake with us? 

You may bring your own cake to celebrate a special occasion with us and we are more than happy to store it for you. Please note we do charge a $5 per person plating fee for outside desserts.

Does River Pointe Inn offer take out? 

At this time, we are not offering take out. Please check back soon for updates regarding take out availability. 

Does River Pointe Inn offer gift cards?

River Pointe Inn offers physical and digital gift cards. For physical gift cards, please visit us during our hours of operation to purchase a card. All digital gift cards can be purchased here.

Does River Pointe Inn host large parties? 

At this time we are not hosting any large parties or events. That said, our team is working quickly to begin booking events for the end of this year. We will let you know when we are ready!

Do you have outdoor dining? 

Yes, we offer outdoor dining. As we approach sunnier days, we will release more information about our outdoor spaces soon.
